Maximum Load Length and Temperature

Our extension springs with rotatable loops can be statically or pseudo-statically loaded and operate efficiently at temperatures up to 104°F (40°C). Their relaxation level, or power loss over time, remains acceptably low for most applications under these conditions. Should you have higher operational temperatures or a dynamic life expectancy of more than 10,000 cycles, refrain from exceeding the spring's maximum load length (E.L.). Our EN 10270-1-SH material can safely tolerate temperatures up to 248°F (120°C).

Calculating Spring Force

To assess the spring force at a specific length, multiply the travel distance (in millimeters) by the rate (R) and add the initial force (F0). 

Remember, 1 kp equals 9.80665 Newtons, and 1 Newton is equivalent to 0.10197 kp.
