Maximum Load Length and Temperature
Recommended for static or pseudo-static loaded springs operating at temperatures up to 104°F (40°C), our extension springs achieve an optimal balance between longevity and performance. The power loss over time, or relaxation, remains within acceptable values for most applications. For higher operating temperatures or more than 10,000 cycles, refrain from loading the spring beyond the maximum load length (E.L.). Our EN 10270-1-SH material can safely withstand up to 248°F (120°C).
Calculating Spring Force
To determine the spring force at a specific length, multiply the travel distance (in millimeters) by the rate (R) and add the initial force (F0). Keep in mind 1 kp equals 9.80665 Newtons, and 1 Newton is equivalent to 0.10197 kp.
