Advantages of Custom Power Springs

Power springs can be made using two methods. There is the traditional flat method that was used to create watch & clock springs, where the spring is manufactured and wound in the flat state into its case, barrel, keeper, or band. Power springs can also be made using a pre-stressed method, which coils the spring with cross-curving imparted to the strip, using specialized proprietary forming processes, and then back wound into its case, barrel, keeper, or band. Conventional power springs tend to take up more space and have a less total turns capability but have a maximized life cycle. Pre-stressed power springs allow for maximized torque output and total turns and take up less space than conventional power springs.
